But what would that accomplish? There are a few <strong>obviously</strong> staged scenes in <em>Bowling For Columbine</em>. One just off the top of my head: Moore states that the racial diversity of Canada is similar to that of the United States. Then to "prove" his point, he shows a black man walking down the street(which is a bit laughable in and of itself. What does that prove?). However, later in the film he interviews this <strong>same</strong> black man who reveals that he is actually from Detroit and only visiting Canada for the day. The truth is, Canada's ethnic and minority make-up is <strong>not</strong> that similar to the U.S., mostly because of some very <a href="http://www.hrea.org/lists/wcar/markup/doc00000.doc">racist immigration policies</a> implemented by the Canadian government up until 1960. Granted, this Canadian racial issue is just a "little white lie", but I think it demonstrates Moore's willingness to stretch the truth when it suits his purpose.
